Why do we offer a free quote?

Every home is designed differently and every homeowner uses their home uniquely. Visiting your home allows us to better understand what your needs are so we can offer you a variety of solutions for you to consider. It also allows us to answer your specific questions regarding your home.

What is a heat pump?

Heat pumps have two main components. The outside condensing unit which houses the inverter-driven compressor and the indoor air handler which delivers the conditioned air. Mini-split heat pumps have many different options for indoor units; they come in different shapes and capacities for an easy mix-and-match solution.

How does a heat pump work?

Heat pumps transfer heat much like a refrigerator does. Because refrigerants have a very low boiling point, heat pumps can transfer heat that is absorbed by the refrigerant copper lines even when its cold outside. Because heat pumps move heat and do not create it, heat pumps can deliver up to 4 times the heat for the energy that is consumed to move the heat. The beauty of the heat pump is the ability to move heat in either direction, so homeowners have the option of heating or cooling.

Are all heat pumps or mini-splits ductless?

No, heat pumps can be ducted or ductless. Many homeowners are choosing the ductless mini-split heat pumps to provide efficient heating and cooling without the added expense of ductwork.

What type of maintenance is required?

Mini-split heat pumps require very little maintenance. Easily accessible filters require periodic cleaning which can be done by the homeowner.

What is the difference between a single-zone and a multi-zone heat pump?

A single zone system pairs one condensing unit with one indoor unit. A multi-zone system splits a home or office into multiple indoor zones (up to five zones) that can be controlled separately. Each indoor unit is piped to the same outdoor condensing unit. Single zone systems are often used to supplement current systems that don’t quite meet the needs of the homeowner or small business. A multi-zone system is typically used to treat several areas at one time. Depending on the configuration, homeowners may reserve ports for future use; installing additional indoor units later.

Joe S.

Vendor

Jim Bob helped us out at the Fair Oaks Mall with the value engineering he provided. They ended up orchestrating an Erickson helicopter pick which took 30 minutes, in lieu of the crane service that would take a full week to do the same task! This was invaluable to our client.

Robert L.

Project Manager

Jim has used his professional expertise to make a difference in our communities. He has invested countless hours helping nonprofit organizations, like mine, renovate buildings to provide marginalized people with housing, employment, and life skills in a way that changes lives and makes our community better.

Ken H.

ALLTHERM is one of the best traveling contractors out there. They have always been team players and look to ensure the best product for the client. I recommend using ALLTHERM if you desire to work with an exceptional HVAC contractor, who knows how to get the job done right.
